Civil War: Riot EU vs Riot NA

The game everybody was waiting for, Riot EU vs Riot NA. The match took place on 27th March to kick start season 3 of the COD Female Pro League. The #RiotFam joined us to support both of our teams in what turned out to be a nail biting series!

Even though we didn’t want to see either of our teams lose, there could only be one winner! For those who missed the stream take a look below at the scores map by map below.

The first map of the night was Retaliation Hardpoint, despite being on North American host, Riot EU showed no weakness being in the lead for the first five minutes of the game at 110-86. With a shakey start, it didn’t take long for Riot NA to get their heads in the game. They ended up overtaking the EU squad, winning 250-132.

Heading into the second map, Riot EU kept their heads held high in hope to tie the series up 1-1. Riot NA ended up taking the second map with xLethalLadyx and Wulfuhnite topping the leaderboards with 9 kills a piece.

Riot EU didnt want this game to be over yet! Despite being 2-0 down in the best of five series, they clawed their way back into this match up making the map score 1-2. They performed fantastically on precinct uplink managing to extend their lead from 1-point difference to 3 in the last 20 seconds of the game.

Riot EU’s team momentum grew after their previous map win and asserted their dominance in Scorch Hardpoint. They wanted a game 5, and they got it! KimmieRiot lead the charge for her team, topping the leaderboard with 32 kills against sister team Riot NA.

What a great way for this match to turn out, a game five! Riot NA took the lead in the SnD with only one more round to win at 5-3. With a determined Riot EU, they made the match more nail biting, winning 2 rounds back to back to give the viewers a game 5, round 11.

With several kills made between both teams left RiotKazii from the EU team in a 1v2 situation. With only 13 seconds left and the bomb planted in her favour, she needed to check if the opposing team were on the defuse.

She managed to kill the player on bomb but unfortunately her team made was by her side and made the kill on Kazi with 10 seconds left to defuse. She managed to hop on the defuse at the 8 second mark securing Riot NA the win.

If the kill made on Kazii was 0.6 of a second later, Riot EU would’ve been crowned champions. Which just shows you how close this match was!

We couldn’t of asked for a better way to kick start season 3 of the FPL as both teams performed incredibly.

We’e extremely proud of both Riot NA & EU, as both teams played fantastically throughout the series. We would like to congratulate the NA squad on their first league match win!

Even though we’ve gone into depth on how the match played out, it doesn’t quite do the game any justice. We’d highly recommend you to check out the stream replay from the RiotOnline channel which can be found here.
